Understanding of Sculpture

By 1605 Publishers
Art, Inspiration

Throughout the history of sculpture, the masters like Michelangelo, Donatello, and Leonardo da Vinci used religious imagery in their sculptural works. However, approximately from the fourteenth to the sixteenth-century sculpture became more concerned with anatomically accurate and naturalistic representations.

Among the most influential names in sculpture is Auguste Rodin - a hugely influential sculpture artist that triggered the turn to modern sculpture and one of our favorites, Constantin Brancusi - the figure that gave the art form the inspiration it needed to move away from the representational form. Dive deeper into the understanding of sculpture with 1605: from the classic sculptors out of the museums to contemporary artists who are changing the course of art history today.
