Born 1990
Tim Verhallen (b. 1990) is a fashion and portrait photographer whose work explores the character, individuality and expressive potential of the people in front of his camera. Combining a refined understanding of light with a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic, he looks for the moment when a subject's character comes to the foreground and an image takes on a life of its own.
His work spans fashion editorials, portraits and commercial assignments. Clients and collaborators include Nike, Karl Lagerfeld, Goldbergh, Suitsupply and Benchellal, alongside titles such as Vogue, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Hunger Magazine, Fucking Young, Mojeh Magazine, VEIN and LUX Magazine. His work was part of Benchellal's solo exhibitions at the National Museum of Qatar (2024) and the State Museum of History of Uzbekistan (2026).
In 2022, Verhallen published his first monograph, Reveal, with 1605 Publishers. Bringing together images in which the relationship between photographer and model is central, the book explores the decisive instant when a model becomes a muse. He also took part in CLUBCULT, a portrait project documenting Amsterdam's underground club culture, photographed during the final weekend of the nightclub De School in January 2024.
