About the book

Explore the visual world of Bastiaan Woudt through "Rhythm", a 10-year retrospective photobook by 1605 Collective that brings together a collection of monochrome portraits, landscapes and still lifes. Through his unique technique and refined style, Woudt's photographs create a quiet, compelling experience for the viewer. This edition comes with the "Carlos" cover design, which makes for a perfect addition to any collector's bookshelf. Discover Woudt's work in "Rhythm".
Bastiaan Woudt's work is characterised by its simplicity, clarity, and balance. His use of high contrast and sharp lines creates a sense of depth and dimensionality in his photographs. Woudt's subjects are often stripped down to their bare essentials, allowing the viewer to focus on their form and texture. He draws inspiration from classical paintings, Surrealism, as well as from the minimalist aesthetics of Japanese design.
Woudt's photography has been exhibited internationally and has won numerous awards, including the Van Vlissingen Art Foundation Grant.

    Boom!

A centerpeace on the coffetable. Because of the beautiful cover (Rythm), print on the linen, clean without typography it sits on top of other books of e.a. Avedon and Penn. Love the size of the book, the design and of course foremost the prints. Beside my profession as Art Director, I also run Xpose Gallery of Scandinavian photography, so I think it’s fair to say I can tell when something is well done in terms of design and photography. Keep up the good work! Kind regards, Anders Schmidt, Stockholm.

    Rhythm | Signed Book

Fantastic. I went to an Exhibition of Albert Watson's work in Loule Portugal when I was visiting (I live in Canada) and Bastiaan was also exhibiting. I ended up liking his work better than Albert's. It was a pleasant surprise so I bought this book there at the gallery and now it sits on display in my bookcase at home!
